  Newsletter 6/21 June 2021

Dear Club Member

Doesn’t time fly? It’s almost June, and here we are hoping all is well with you and that life is more relaxed with the easing of restrictions. We have plenty of news and events to share with you this month, so here goes:

LAST MINUTE REMINDER: Friday Practical – 28th May – 1.30 – 4.30 please bring your own materials. The first Wednesday evening practical had 11 participants!

‘Thank you’ to everyone who logged in to our first Zoom Demo. It was very well attended, and well worth doing.

Outdoor Painting Days

look as if they are really going to happen. Here’s a reminder – Monday 14th June 10.30am at the boathouse in Peasholm Park, and Wednesday 30th June 10am at Levisham Station. Please check details on your Outdoor Painting Programme 2021 which is attached to this newsletter.

Live Demonstration

on Thurs 10th June will feature Delia Prudence from Scarborough painting ‘Tall Order’, a Giraffe in watercolour. There are still seats available to watch this interesting artist at work, so please contact Lesley to book your place. No fee for members.

The July Demonstration on 8th July will be with the ever popular John Harrison creating buildings in pen and wash.

The Monthly Challenge

‘The month of June is rich in mythology and meanings…your task is to create a piece of abstract art that speaks of ‘June 2021’, using any medium of your choice.’

If you wish to add a comment or explanation in prose, or verse (max 50 words) it will also feature in our ‘Art News’ Blog on the website. As always your work must be original, sent to the website as a jpeg photograph of good quality.

A WARM WELCOME to 4 new members of VOPAC.

We look forward to meeting Julie, Catriona, Gail and Rebecca at our events, and we hope you all enjoy a long and happy association with the Club.

With the best of wishes from your Committee
