Newsletter 1/21 January 2021

Dear Club Member,
Welcome to the first 2021 club newsletter. Whilst we are still unable to meet, until March at the earliest, we are all hoping to be in a better place eventually.
The January monthly meeting is cancelled and we intend to hold the February AGM at a later date. We will let you know nearer the time about the March monthly meeting.

March Workshop

Heather Burton’s ‘Painting Knife Techniques’ workshop is booked for Saturday March 27th, 10am to 4pm. Heather is very enthusiastic and usually works in acrylic paint, but her techniques could be applied to oils. Even if it is possible to run this event, there will only be limited number of places, so if you are interested, please could you let us know via the club email with the title ‘March Workshop’. We do not need a deposit at this stage and we won’t be able to make a firm decision until much nearer the time.

Website Artists Selling Page

We are very grateful to Sue Broughton, who has put in a lot of time an effort to set up an artist’s selling page on the web site. The idea is that this will be available for members to put up work for sale. If you wish to participate please note the following important information:

  •   The club will take 15% commission, to include the card fee.
  •   The selling artist is responsible for delivering/covering the cost ofpacking and postage to the buyer, UK only
  •   Good quality jpeg photos are needed, ideally 675 to 1200px wide.
  •   Maximum 2 pieces per artist on the site at any one time
  •   The following information should be provided – artist’s name, title, medium, size, framed/unframed, price.
  •   The club will collect card payment through an i-zettle secure link.

Membership Renewal

These will be coming to you by email shortly and the renewal subscription will be only £10.

Monthly Challenge

Some of you sent us terrific paintings and drawings of subjects in red! Thank you for these, which are displayed on the web site.
This month’s challenge is ‘A Wintery Scene’ using your own photo or the one attached. If you prefer to be indoors, how about trying ‘Winter Woollies’? Could be sheep or you may have a colourful hat or jumper that would make an interesting subject. As usual, please share your efforts with us by sending a photo to the club email. Again, please send a good quality large jpeg.

The committee wish you all a brighter future in 2021. .uk email:
