January 2024 Newsletter
A Happy and Peaceful New Year to all!
We have a wonderful schedule of demonstrations, workshops, and outdoor painting days for 2024. We have tried hard to appeal to the varied interests of club members and hope that the planned events will be both enjoyable and productive.
To kick off the year we have a relaxed practical evening on the 11th of January at 7pm in the Memorial Hall, Pickeringwhich is going to be in a Mr Sketchy format. This involves participants sketching models (dressed!) in different poses for increasing lengths of time. There will be refreshments and a lot of fun. We will provide different media for you to try out and members can obviously bring their own materials to use. The evening will offer plenty of scope for experimentation!
On the 17th of January we resume our Wednesday practical evenings at 7pm in the Memorial Hall. The topic of this first get together of the year is drawing each other in winter clothing -so bring along items such as gloves, scarves and woolly hats.
Our first workshop of the year will be on 2nd March. Charles Evans will run a workshop entitled ‘watercolour made easy”. Charles is a highly regarded artist; you can read about him and view his beautiful work at https://charlesevansart.com/about-us/
This is workshop is bound to be in high demand so be sure to book your place as soon as possible.
Everyone will have received their membership renewal forms in December. We do hope that you have renewed or plan to do so in the very near future. Do contact us to request a paper copy of the forms if this is easier for you. We remain excellent value for money, holding the cost of our membership at £25 for the entire year. We are working to grow and sustain our wonderful art club, but this will not be possible without your on-going support.
We look forward to meeting you in 2024!
