Newsletter 12/21 December 2021

Dear Club Member,
We do hope that you all remain very well and are keeping busy.
The only event taking place this month is the Wednesday evening Practical, in the Mill
Suite on the 15th December, at 7pm. Lynette will look forward to seeing you at the last
event before Xmas.
We are taking a note of interest in the Heather Burton palette knife workshop on 26th
March 2022, if you wish to claim a place. The workshop will be suitable for both oils and
acrylics.
We will collect deposits in the New Year.
We have been invited by the local Encephalitis Society to take part in a charity Fund
raiser for their cause.
Details of the arrangements are attached, to this newsletter.
If interested, you would require either a “twitter” or “Instagram” account.
It just remains for us at the close of 2021, to thank all members for their continued
support of the club and its events and activities.
We wish you, all and your families a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
We look forward to seeing all of you again in 2022

With best wishes from your VOPAC Committee

Call for artists!
Organizers of the Twitter Art Exhibit (TAE) – www.twitterartexhibit.org –
are calling on local artists to donate an original postcard-sized artwork
for a charity exhibition at The Hiscox Building, York, on June 25 and 26,
2022.
Since its launch by artist David Sandum in 2010, TAE has raised thousands
of pounds for charity with exhibitions being held in the USA, UK, Australia
and Norway.
Up to 1,000 artists from around the world are expected to submit work for
next year’s show – with submissions coming from amateur and professional
artists, celebrities as well as members of beneficiary charities.
All artwork will be sold for a flat price of £30 at the exhibition and then
online with proceeds going to the Encephalitis Society (www.encephalitis.info). Based in Malton, North Yorkshire, the Encephalitis Society supports individuals and families around the world who have been affected by
encephalitis – inflammation of the brain.
Actor Mathew Bose, Ambassador of the Encephalitis Society, said: “There has
always been a strong presence from local artists at previous exhibitions
and we’d love that to be the case again this time round.
“It is not only a wonderful opportunity to showcase your work and reach new
audiences, but a chance to support a charity which helps people whose lives
have been forever changed by encephalitis.”
Find out more about TAE and register today: www.twitterartexhibit.org
The deadline for entries is April 22, 2022.
