Complements of the season to all our members!

Pine tree on a field filled with snow

We hope to share some Christmas cheer with you at our AGM. This will be held at 7pm on 7th December at the Memorial Hall. There will be some business to report but we are also going to have a talk on the history of watercolour by Paul Blackwell. The evening will conclude with drinks and nibbles, so something for everyone we hope! Please find the minutes of the 2022 AGM attached.

Our next practical evening on the 20th December at 7pm at the Memorial Hall will also have a Christmas theme. There will be Christmas decorations to stimulate your creativity but as always you are welcome to pursue your own work in a friendly supportive atmosphere.

In January, members will be invited to renew their membership. We do hope that all our members will renew and that we will be able to attract new members. We remain excellent value for money, holding the cost of our membership at £25 for the entire year’s activities despite some cost increases. We have a fantastic programme of workshops, demonstrations, practical evenings, and outdoor painting days in place for 2024. You will receive the demonstration and workshop programme for 2024 when you renew your membership.

North Yorkshire Winter Open Studios will take place on 2nd and 3rd December. Artists taking part include two of our 2023 demonstrators, Anna Matyus and Sue Slack, and VOPAC member Colin Culley. They would love you to call in on them.

The first meeting on January 11th at the Memorial Hall will have a practical orientation. Members will be encouraged to experiment with materials and techniques that they may have neglected or not previously used. Do put the date in your diary as it promises to be a relaxing and enjoyable evening.

We look forward to seeing you at our AGM and Christmas get together on 7th December.
