Newsletter 06/22 June 2022
Dear Club Member,
Well, its nearly June already, and hopefully the weather is picking up. That would be great for our two outdoor painting days this month.
The next day out is at the Wykeham Lakes on Tuesday 14th June, meet in the car park at 10.00 am. Get in touch if a lift is required
You have another opportunity to paint outdoors at Pickering Castle on Wednesday 29th June, meet at the gate at 10.00 am
Come and have a go, it is great fun.
Our main event of the month is the demonstration by East Yorkshire artist, Mary Wells, from Driffield Art Club. The subject is a portrait in pastel.
This demonstration takes place on Thursday 9th June at 7pm in the Whistler Hall. Please note that temporary posters given out have the wrong date.
We will still be practicing our Covid precautions, i.e., spacing, masks if wished, clean hands, etc. Refreshments will be available at this event. We will also be adopting Covid safe practices in the kitchen.
The 3rd Wednesday group will be meeting on the 15th June at 7pm in the Mill Suite. The subject is “flowers”, inspired by Chelsea. You can of course work on your own project.
The Heather Burton palette Knife workshop, in May, was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
Heather has passed on details of further workshops she has on offer, and this is attached as page 2 to this newsletter.
Our next club workshop is by Robert Dutton on the 22nd October. It is mixed media, but watercolour based. We are taking names for this event. The subsidised cost is £35, with a £10 deposit, when you can please.
You will have an opportunity to get a flavour of Roberts work in July.
For those interested, North Yorkshire Open Studios takes place on the weekends 4th/5th June and 11th/12thJune.
Happy painting from your VOPAC Committee
