Well known artist Susan Neale painted a portrait of a young girl in watercolours. She used raw sienna, permanent rose and a touch of cadmium red and a number 7 sable brush. She was using Aquarello "Not" on a block. "The paper is very white". She recommended Charles Reid for doing good water colour portraits. As Susan was painting on a flat surface, members watched the two video screens with rapt attention as the portrait gradually evolved. Susan advised that it is best to just have a white gap between open lips rather than mark in the teeth. "Observe the detail of the eyes like a hawk".The final touch was a small white highlight in both eyes after which the face came to life.News
