"For the 'Most Promising Art Student Award, Year 9 Students from Lady Lumley's School, submitted work from their end of year Surrealism project. An example of artwork from all students was displayed during the exhibition, with the finalists received vouchers for art materials, and other art related items, sponsored by the SAA (Society for All Artists) and the Vale of Pickering Art Club. The results are as follows: Ryan Hughes 1st, Megan Thompson 2nd and Charlie Monkman 3rd.

First place Ryan also received a stunning and unique ceramic award, made by local artists Sally and Brian Tozer, of 'Studio Tozer'.

The art club were very impressed with the enthusiasm of the students and the quality of their work and thank Holly Naylor, the Year 9 art teacher for facilitating this award."

This years exhibition is supporting Ryedale Special Families

In 1997 Ryedale Special Families became a registered charity, took on its first employee, a Development Officer and moved into its first office, which was based in Welburn Hall School, near Kirkbymoorside. Since that time we have moved to our current location in Old Malton, expanded our workforce to over 30 full and part time employees, and now provide support to over 400 families throughout the Ryedale area.

September sees the return of our annual exhibition. The exhibition showcases the fabulous work of our members. It always promises to be varied and original. The exhibition is growing every year and we are really excited to see what this year brings!

Our annual exhibition runs for just over a week and is open daily during that time. It's a great opportunity for visitors (and fellow artists) to purchase original work from local artists.
